Simian Mobile Disco Finally Reach Poland

We are very proud to announce that the British duo Simian Mobile Disco have officially been confirmed as part of the line up for this year's edition of our festival. Slated to perform on the first day of AR '10, the world famous DJ-production team made up of James Ford and James Shaw will for the very first time perform in Poland. But the good news doesn't stop there. Magda, dBridge and Instra:mental, SP:MC, as well as The Black Dog (live) will also grace the picturesque beach with performances.

Simian Mobile Disco's origins can be traced back to the crossover hit 'We Are Your Friends' produced together with Justice under the somewhat different Simian. With time, however, James & James left the group, only to later hit the big time under their newest guise, thanks in the most part to their debut album entitled 'Attack Decay Sustain Release', which included such well known tracks such as 'Hustler', It's The Beat' and 'I Believe'. Last year, they released an equally excellent sophomore album featuring the vocal talents of the singers from Gossip and Hot Chip. And if that wasn't enough, one half of the duo, Mr Ford, was the production mastermind behind the albums of such groups as the Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys, as well as the Last Shadow Puppets. And because the group will actually be spinning records at Audioriver, it is also worth mentioning some of their mixes, each of which has proven that they are also highly talented DJs. Simian Mobile Disco's 'Suck My Deck', 'FabricLive' as well as their blinding Essential Mix from earlier this year pretty much speak for themselves.

We also made a point of inviting the Polish-born Magda to the beach this year. Considered by many to be one of the leading female DJs in the world, Magda Chojnacka is so far the only artist of Polish heritage to record a mix for the highly influential 'Fabric' series. She also happens to be one of the leading figures at one of the most popular techno labels in the world, namely Richie Hawtin's Minus. Oh, and she also recorded an Essential Mix back to back with the mighty Loco Dice.

We also have a few treats in store for all the IDM and ambient fans out there. Showcased at the festival for the first time last year, the more downtempo side of things will not, in contrast to 2009's edition, be presented on a separate stage. We opted to mix things up a bit this year by not including a separate area for IDM and ambient artists. Instead, performances from the likes of Four Tet and Oni Ayhun will take place on various stages at different times. As well the live set from veterans The Black Dog, whose enormous output, spanning 20 years, has been diverse, from IDM to raw techno and everything in between, to say the very least. And with having released an album on May 10th, it seems like the perfect occasion to see the group live.

The Club Autonomic crew will also be in full force at Audioriver 2010. dBridge , the duo Instra:mental along with SP:MC on vocal duties are widely considered to be true musical innovators, who on a regular basis blur the lines between drum & bass, dubstep and minimal. This state of affairs is more than likely the reason why they were asked to record the 50th installment of the esteemed 'FabricLive' mix CD series. The aforementioned mix CD goes a long way in proving why the members of the crew have been considered by many to be masters of mixology – the mixing of tracks and genres.
